                   Expanding SCA

SCA are delighted to announce that we have been gradually expanding across several counties in the UK and are steadily building a network of excellent Early Years practitioners to support the childminding industry. The academic year of 2019/2020 has seen vast changes to our industry with the New Inspection Framework and the everchanging guidance on the Coronavirus situation. We have seen more and more childminders turn to SCA for advice, support and training in these varying times. With our experience in the sector and our working relationships with Ofsted and the DfE we have been well placed to offer childminders the help they’ve needed. It has been incredible to watch our industry adapt in such times and preserve the essential message that children are at the heart of all we do. Changes to the Early Learning Goals will see our industry adapt again and SCA are ready to help any childminders needing support with this. If that’s you, please do get in touch by emailing

What makes SCA Unique?

Teamwork is paramount at SCA. We believe that for too long childminders have been isolated in the world of Early Years and our agency aims to bring this community together so we can all be part of bringing the best quality childcare and learning opportunities to our children. Every childminder registered with SCA is allocated their own Agency Manager who provides support in any area of childcare from activity ideas, assessment tools, generating good parent partnerships, funding, paperwork, running a business…anything! We want to reassure childminders that they are following the guidelines and Statutory Framework and are up to date with any changes to legislation. All our childminders are automatically registered to receive Tax-free Childcare. Our childminders are offered a Progress Check with their Agency Manager within 3 months of registration where they can discuss any areas of their business. We also offer pre -inspection visits and post-inspection support to enable our childminders’ Continuing Professional Development. We also want to dispel the myth that inspections are a scary, nerve -racking experience. What makes us different is that we see inspections as a tool for childminders to evaluate their own practice. Inspections are not about finding fault, but more about celebrating a setting’s unique qualities, and of course helping our childminders improve the experiences they give to their children. Our inspectors are all practitioners themselves and offer advice and expertise to our childminders. They also help us look for excellent practitioners to join our growing team as Managers. Our passion is education and that doesn’t stop at just the children. We offer our childminders opportunities to further education so they can study alongside childminding. At SCA we are all a team – childminders may run their own business, set their own rules, routines and working hours but under the SCA umbrella they have a team of experienced people to support them.

If you are a childminder and would like to join SCA, please visit for an application form or for more information email us at to request a Q & A session over Skype
